Coping for 20-somethings: Jamaica edition

It's the 26th..which means you just got paid..and while some of us are about to celebrate this "gift of manna" from Private and public sectors, a number of us have fallen back into the rut of fretting what our salaries will look like after all our bills ninja slash our net balance making us consider homelessness a better option.

"20-somethings?" "Debt?" "Stressed over what?"

I did say Jamaica.

Because, Jamaica.

Because, light bill, rent (whether you live on your own or not), car loan, STUDENT LOANS, loans you took out for your parents as retribution for parenting you, water, cable, internet..even that pesky lady from Accounts' church that's having a fish fry. DEBT.

Ever so often you might lose it. And that's okay. Because you're entitled to. You live in a country where you did the right thing, stayed, made a contribution to society and you still got screwed. So, before you lose it (permanently), here's a small survival strategy for making it on those days when you feel hopeless:

Blog short

New news

  1. Cut my hair off
  2. In "marriage-but-great" love
  3. Still poor surviving

The intermittent waves of sadness that come over me since I've realised my hair grows below the 1/2" growth by other females, although not uncommon, have started taking a toll on me on my hair blog. And, in addition to cutting my hair off to be on my natural hair journey, there isn't anything to write about there.

So musings and thoughts will satisfy themselves over here.

Expect intermittent dawkniss.

Welcome!

Hello there,

I've taken up blogging of late. Yes, Yes, I've always been late to the niceties of the internets but after starting my hair blog, I've finally decided to take The Beloved's advice and blog about things other than the "struggles" of growing my hair.. So here I am.

I'm known by some (read: the very few) as one whom discusses politics, the government and everyday things happening in my country Jamaica on Twitter. So I'm pretty sure one of the very few would think I'd automatically discuss that as well on my blog. Sad to say, I wont delve much into to politics and government, as much as I would like to at least, but I will blog about my observations, musings, maybe a little movie talk and just keep it light. So stay tuned while I continue to look around, blog some and hopefully we can hold a small reasoning.

Thanks for stopping by. Peace & Love.
